The letter warns that AI-generated content threatens to flood the market with mediocre work, based on copyrighted stories and ideas, without fair compensation. The signatories include Margaret Atwood, Suzanne Collins, Jodi Picoult, and Michael Chabon. The letter demands that the AI makers obtain written consent, credit, and fair remuneration from the writers.
